Do you have the right insurance (Life, Disability, Long-Term Care, Accident)?  Do you even need life insurance?  What about disability insurance, what is it and do I need it?

Insurance planning is critical to the security of your net worth and retirement.  When is the last time a qualified insurance professional reviewed your current insurance policies to look for gaps in coverage?  We are here to help you fill in those gaps so you are protected when catastrophy strikes.  Types of insurance we will review are:

  • Property & Casualty Insurance
  • Life Insurance
  • Disability Insurance
  • Long-Term Care Insurance
  • Annuity Analysis (if applicable)
  • Accident Insurance

You will recieve un-biased objective opinion on what insurance products you need and what companies are best suited for your needs becuase Allen & Allen LLP is independent and not owned by any insurance company.

Among the insurance products & services we offer:

  • Life Insurance (Term, Whole & Universal Life products) - This insurance is designed to payout a benefit should the insured passaway.  It can also include long-term care riders (see below).  Life insurance is used to replace lost income of a wage earner, to provide for surviving spouse, to provide education money for children, and to pay for expected estate taxes.
  • Long-Term Care Insurance - pays for extended care in a nursing facility or assisted living facility.  Neither health insurance or Medicare will pay for this type of care.  So unless you have a LTC policy you will have to pay for this out of pocket.  Average annual cost for this care in California is $72,000 per year whereas a good LTC policy costs ~$2,000 to $5,000 per year.
  • Fixed and Index Annuities - Annuities are used to protect your retirement income.  IRA's, 401(k)'s, and the like put the investment risk on the account holder.  Meaning, if the accounts do not perform well you will have less for retirement.  Annuities offer guaranteed benefits regardless of stock market performance.  (guarantees are limited to the financial strength of the insurance company).  Annuities can be a great addition to your retirement portfolio if you do not already have a defined benefit plan.
  • Disability Insurance - CRITICAL for folks in their prime income earning years.  Your lively hood is based on your ability to earn income.  If you should suffer a dibilitating accident or medical condition your ability to earn income could be severly impaired.  Disability insurance seeks to protect you from this occurance by paying a monthly income benefit in the case of your disability.
  • Accident Insurance - A low cost medical reimbursement plan.  It reimburses you for costs associated with specific accidents and hospital visits.  Accident insurance is great for you if you have high-deductible medical plans and need additional coverage.
  • Travel Medical Insurance - most major medical plans are limited in their coverage when you are out of the country.  A temporary travel medical plan can protect you from the gaps in coverage.  This is a great policy for you if you travel outside of the country frequently for work, are a student living overseas, or a missionary on a mission.
